How are we performing ?
During 2008/09 we aim to maintain and improve our collection rate for non-domestic rates. To help us achieve this the following targets have been set.
1) To collect at least 98.5% of the 2008/09 non-domestic rate by 31 March 2009. Chart 1 shows our accumulative collection on a month to month % basis.
2) As at 31 March 2008 we had collected 98.5% of the 2007/08 non-domestic rate and our aim is to collect at least 99.3% of this by 31 March 2009. Chart 2 shows our accumulative collection on a month to month % basis.
3) To reduce the level of the combined council tax and non-domestic rate arrears total outstanding as at 31 March 2008. Chart 3 shows our performance in reducing the arrears on a month to month % basis.
In addition to improving our collection performance we also aim to reduce the time taken to answer correspondence. We aim to answer 90% of correspondence within 5 working days of receipt. The following chart shows our performance over the last 7 months.
