Wealden SEEDA Market Towns Initiative 2002-2005
Heathfield and Hailsham each received £240,000 to regenerate their towns from The South East Economic Development Agency's (SEEDA) Market Towns Initiative 2002-2005.
The funds were used to support projects that have had a positive economic impact on the local community.
Hailsham
SEEDA Market Towns projects in Hailsham have included:
- The purchase and refurbishment of two town centre properties (including Prospects House where the Hailsham Trust is located) for community use
- The setting up of a Local Learning Centre in the centre of Hailsham and the provision of a Jobpoint, careers guidance, business advice and volunteer services to the local community
Heathfield
SEEDA Market Towns projects in Heathfield have included:
- High Street Improvements to raise the amenity of the town centre

A commercial and social regeneration feasibility study, identifying long term development opportunities for the town
