Council Tax Benefit (CTB) is a national scheme that helps those people with low incomes to pay their council tax. The Government sets the rules regarding who can claim and how much benefit they receive. In April 2013, the national scheme will be abolished and each in its place, local authorities have been asked to bring in their own schemes to help local people pay their council tax. This consultation is about the Wealden Council Tax Support Scheme.
It is important that we hear from you, whether you receive CTB or not, as the changes could affect all taxpayers in Wealden.
