Draft Corporate Plan 2009-2012 Consultation
The Corporate Plan is the document which sets out the strategic direction for the Council.
In the past, the Council has consulted separately on the Corporate Plan and the budget. Given the impacts of the economic downturn and the financial pressures in the Council, it is particularly important to capture local views on what your District Council plans to do. We therefore consulted on both documents simultaneously, aiming to reach a wider audience than ever before. Members of the newly formed Wealden Panel were contacted in January for their views alongside traditional consultees such as our partners and the Town and Parish Councils.
We are grateful to all members of the Panel who completed the survey and members of the public who contributed their views through the web-based consultation.
Our analysis of the feedback from the consultations was reported to Cabinet on 4 February so that the decisions could take account of public opinion and that of the other bodies we work with. This headline summary of the Wealden Panel consultation results (PDF, 25 kb) was circulated at the Cabinet meeting. Further feedback has been sent to members of the Wealden Panel through their newsletter.
The consultation exercise prompted changes to the sections on sustainability, affordable housing and the Local Development Framework in particular. These results and the revised version of the Plan were then presented in a report to Cabinet (PDF, 774 kb) on 18 March.
If you have any questions about the Corporate Plan, please telephone the Council on 01323 443229 to speak to the Head of Policy and Review.
