Community Engagement in Wealden

Through community engagement activities, Wealden District Council will enable people to put forward ideas, options and opinions to help shape decisions about local service priorities and improvements.

We list current planned engagement activities on our consultation diary webpage. New and major consultations are featured on the main diary page, and all other consultations can be found using the search button. The diary was introduced in 2009, so results of consultations from earlier years are listed on our main ‘have your say’ webpage. Our website also highlights our partners' and other organisations' consultations and details the latest research and consultation results.

We also use a variety of other relevant means to make residents aware of the engagement activities we are undertaking.

We set up a Wealden People’s Panel, originally in 1995. In 2008 we revised our consultation requirements and recruited a new Wealden Panel which is demographically representative of the District. Wealden residents on the Panel can be asked to be involved through surveys, questionnaires, focus groups and discussion meetings.
