Realising the potential of a small workforce

It’s all to easy for small and medium-sized businesses to dismiss personnel, and training issues as being only for large companies. But getting the best from your staff is vital to the success of your business, whatever the size.

The next Wealden Business Breakfast on Tuesday November 29 2005 concentrates on making the most out of the people in your business. The guest speaker is Ray Mason DipM FCIM, the Chief Executive of EDEAL. Ray has held senior positions in global, and small and medium-sized business leading teams ranging from five to 150.

Key to his success has been using ‘real life’ knowledge and experience to build a motivated workforce, and increasing individual productivity through personnel development planning and training.

“Training and development of people is a vital part of meeting the challenge of the future,” said Councillor Keith Whitehead, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Development and Regeneration. “Wealden Business Breakfasts offers managers from the small and medium-sized enterprises which are the backbone of Wealden economy, the chance to tap into the latest business thinking without having to spend all day out of the office.”

The breakfast meeting at the Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club will also review the benefits business standards like ISO-9000, Investors in People and Matrix can bring to your business.

There is the choice of either a full English or Continental breakfast using local produce. After the presentation a chance to do some informal networking, and use the ‘Name Exchange’ table for promoting you business.
