Funding surgeries to help get a better deal for your voluntary organisation.
Two more free Funding Surgeries are being held in Wealden to help voluntary organisations make the most of the funding opportunities available.
They are at:
Herstmonceux Village Information Centre on September 4, from 6pm-8pm.
Ethel Wood Community Centre, Coast Road, Pevensey Bay on September 19, from 6pm –8pm.
“It is never easy running voluntary organisations when there are so many competing demands for assistance,” said Councillor Sylvia Tidy, Wealden Cabinet Member for Community Development. “But there are other sources of support available. Funding surgeries are a great way to find out where these pots of money can be found.
“It is important to book places before attending. The last Funding Surgery held at Maresfield was very well attended.”
The importance of the surgeries was emphasised by the parish clerk of Maresfield, Tony Allen:
“Access to funding information and advice is crucial to the survival of most local groups,” he said. “Obtaining funding is often seen as a ‘minefield’ that has to be negotiated, with complicated and lengthy application forms; and the information on what is available is fragmented and hard to understand.”
To book your place at the Herstmonceux or Pevensey Bay Funding Surgeries, please contact Liz Padgham, Wealden’s Community Grants Officer, on 01323 443520; email liz.padgham@wealden.gov.uk.
Last year Wealden District Council and Wealden Community Support between them were able to locate more than £295,000 for voluntary groups.
Funding Surgeries are run by Wealden District Council and Eastbourne and Wealden Community Support. The events are supported by Herstmonceux Village Information Centre, Herstmonceux Parish Council and Pevensey Parish Council.
