Remembrance Day 2007
The Union Flag will be flown at Wealden District Council’s offices on Sunday November 11 to commemorate those who gave their lives serving their country.
“Remembrance Sunday is the day when we remember the sacrifices of those who served in two major world wars, and the many conflicts that have taken place since then,” said Councillor Chantal Wilson, Chairman of Wealden District Council. “With soldiers on active service in Iraq and Afghanistan, their sacrifice is as real today as ever before.”
The Chairman of Wealden District Council will be attending the Remembrance Day wreath laying ceremony at Hailsham war memorial at 10.30am on that day.
She will then attend the wreath laying and Service of Remembrance at Crowborough at 2.30pm.
A short film featuring the work of the Royal British Legion will be shown on the large display screens in the reception areas at Wealden District Council’s offices in Crowborough and Hailsham during Friday November 9.
