Wealden Business Breakfast on March 25

Will you be joining Wealden’s business leaders for breakfast on Tuesday, March 25, to take part in seminars on changes being made to the national business support mechanisms and on improving resource efficiency?

A limited number of tickets are available for the next Wealden District Council Business Breakfast at Barnsgate Manor Vineyard, Heron’s Ghyll, near Crowborough. The cost is £5 per delegate which includes a choice of either a full English or continental breakfast using local produce; fruit juice, tea and coffee. Business Breakfasts provide an ideal chance to network with other Wealden businesses and develop your understanding of key issues. Places need to be booked by Tuesday, March 18.

Councillor Sylvia Tidy said “Wealden's Business Breakfasts are a well-established, popular seminar and networking occasion. The next breakfast covers the changes to the way businesses are supported nationally and ways of saving money by saving environmental resources. It will be useful to businesses across the District, whether it’s the first time they’ve attended or the tenth.”

The speakers include Ray Mason DipM FCIM, who is the Chief Executive of EDEAL Ltd and has held senior executive positions in both global and small–medium enterprises. He will explain the Business Support Simplification Programme and the way changes to the national support mechanisms will affect your business. Andy Arnold is Environment Co-ordinator for East Sussex County Council and has 10 years’ experience in the private sector, mainly in waste management. He will discuss the Business Excellence Through Resource Efficiency (Betre) programme, which, since 2003, has helped clients to identify actions and savings of over £400K per annum. Over the same period, waste has been reduced by enough to fill 210 ten-tonne dumper trucks, CO2 emissions have been cut and the water saved would be enough to fill 14 Olympic-size swimming pools.

This event is being held in conjunction with The Crowborough Partnership, a local business network for Crowborough and north Wealden. The partnership offers a range of networking events, provides business related information from a variety of business support/training sources, is a useful contact point for enquiries and represents local business interests. Membership is free; for more information send an email to tonyslack@crowborough.biz.
