Calling all local photographers…
The Enjoy Sussex Partnership is on the lookout for favourite photographic views of the Enjoy Sussex region to be used to promote the area to visitors. Local photographers, whether amateurs, club members or professionals, are invited to send in their favourite images of where they live and the surrounding countryside.
As Wealden is part of the Enjoy Sussex tourism partnership, photos of the Wealden towns, villages and landscape will be particularly welcome.
The closing date for entries is Tuesday 26 August at 12 noon.
"We take tremendous pride in the beautiful Wealden countryside, but at times it can be elusive to capture on camera. This is a great challenge for anyone interested in photography to record some of these wonderful views and places," said Cllr Ron Cussons, Cabinet Member for Community.
A wide range of high resolution photographs are needed, from landscapes to action shots, photographs of local produce, wildlife and people enjoying what the Enjoy Sussex area has to offer. Portrait images are particularly welcome.
Although there will be no payment for the images, all successful photographers will have their images accredited to them in tourism marketing produced by the Enjoy Sussex Partnership including the Enjoy Sussex Visitor Guide 2009 and the Enjoy Sussex website www.enjoysussex.info. All those who take part will be entered into a prize draw for £250 of camera equipment.
The Enjoy Sussex Partnership includes Wealden District, Horsham District, Mid Sussex District, and Lewes District. Officers from these local authorities work together to produce the annual Enjoy Sussex Visitor Guide and website.
Copies of the 2008 Enjoy Sussex Visitor Guide are available from the tourist information centres at Horsham, Burgess Hill, East Grinstead, Lewes and Seaford.
