Survey of public services and quality of life in Wealden

The new Place Survey will give thousands of Wealden residents the chance to voice their views about public services and the quality of life in their local area.

"Wealden District Council has made Putting People First a corporate priority", said Councillor Pam Doodes, Leader of the Council.  "We take pride in our record of consulting and listening to residents.  The answers people give to the questions in the Place Survey are important to the Council and its partners.  We will work together with our partners to use the responses to the survey to address the issues raised and to see how we can further improve our services."

The survey will be analysed by the Local Strategic Partnership which involves Wealden District Council, East Sussex County Council, Sussex Police, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and business and community representatives.  The results of the survey will help to determine the way the partnership carries out our Sustainable Community Strategy.

Between the end of September and the beginning of December 2008, 3,000 randomly selected households in Wealden will be sent a copy of the Place Survey. This gives everyone an equal chance of taking part and ensures that a good cross-section of residents is involved.

The Place Survey has to be conducted by all councils in England.  Working together to make cost savings, the County Council and all the district and borough councils in East Sussex chose Ipsos MORI to carry out the survey on their behalf.

Any information that people provide (including personal information) will be treated in the strictest confidence.  Responses will only be used to monitor the performance of public services.
