How to view the record maps for public sewers
The Council holds copies of the record maps provided by Southern Water indicating the location of public sewers in the Wealden Area. These are available for viewing at the Crowborough offices between 8.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, please phone 01892 602719 to arrange an appointment to inspect the plans. These plans are also available at the offices of Southern Water.
Record maps for private sewers
Formal record maps indicating the location of private drainage systems are not held by any Authority. The deeds of a property may however include details, and the Council's Planning section may have plans submitted with planning applications.

The diagram explains the difference between the public and private sewers and who is responsible for each part of the sewerage system.
