Public and private sewers responsibilities
In the above diagram, houses 1 - 3 were built before 1st October 1937 and are served by Drains and a Public Sewer. Houses 4 - 8 were built after this date. Houses 4 and 5 are served by Drains which connect directly to the main Public Sewer and houses 6 - 8 are served by Drains, a Private Sewer and then the main Public Sewer.
