Recycling Champions
Recycling champions are volunteers from the local community who would like to make a difference to the environment and their community by promoting recycling and/or composting. There are various different ways to get involved
- encouraging neighbours and friends to recycling.
- being in charge of the communal bins for your block of flats and provide your neighbours with feedback of any items that have been put in the recycling bins that can't be accepted.
- providing advice on home composting and how to get the best results.
- helping at various events in your area.
- providing us with feedback from residents on how the scheme is working and problems that have occurred.
Anyone who has volunteered to be a recycling champion will get
- full training
- a trip to the waste and recycling facilities
- competitions just for the recycling champions
- freebies
- regular updates on how the scheme is working
- updates on waste reduction, re-use and recycling in Wealden
- regular meetings to which you can attend as many or as few as you like
