Paying Your Council Rent
Your rent is due every Monday and can be paid using the following methods:
- By Direct Debit - download the direct debit form (pdf 43 kd) if you haven't already set up a Direct Debit for your rent
- On-line using a debit card (Switch, Solo or Visa)
- Using your rent payment card at a post office
- By sending in a cheque - please make cheques payable to Wealden District Council and send to Housing Services at the Hailsham Office remembering to quote your housing rents reference number on the back of the cheque
- Over the telephone by debit card (Switch, Solo or Visa) - call 01323 443373. You will need your housing rents reference number
- By Standing Order - please contact your bank for details on how to set up a standing order. You will need the Council's bank account details which are: Sort Code 08-90-25 Account Number: 61164477 Account Name: Wealden District Council. Forms are available from by calling 01323 443373.
Rent Calendars
Rent calendars are sent out to tenants each year to show you when payments are due, if you do not have one of these calendars or have misplaced it please contact 01323 443373.
Problems Paying Your Rent
If you are having problems paying your rent, and your income is insufficient, you may be entitled to claim Housing Benefit.
If you are having difficulty with your rent payments it is important that you contact us immediately on 01323 443373 so we may give you advice and assistance as failure to pay your rent could ultimately lead to the loss of your home.
