Sheltered Housing
Security and independence, economy and convenience; when choosing a home for your retirement, these are probably your main priorities. But you do not want to give up your independence. Many retired people find that their present home no longer suits their needs. So you may be considering a move to a more compact and easily run home.
Sheltered housing offers privacy and freedom combined with the friendly reassurance that a Scheme Manager provides. There are also many opportunities to be involved in social activities.
We provide 2 different options at Wealden in our sheltered schemes:
Sheltered housing for rent
- Sheltered Housing to rent in Wealden for older people (pdf 43kb)
- Housing Associations, Sheltered Housing to rent in Wealden (pdf 31kb)
Sheltered housing for sale
- Current properties for sale
- Housing Associations, Retirement Leasehold Sheltered Housing in Wealden (pdf 29kb)
The Scheme Manager and the Lifeline service
Though the Scheme Managers do not provide nursing care they are fully trained to know how and when to summon help if necessary. A speech link connects all dwellings to the Manager.
An extra advantage is connection to Wealden and Eastbourne Lifeline (WEL) which operates around the clock. If the Manager is not available, calls for help are diverted to trained staff.
