The Council provides information and advice on keeping your home warm, saving money, finding help with your fuel bills and helping the environment.
Keeping your home warm is important for your health. A well heated home should be between 19 and 22 degrees Celsius (67 to 72 Fahrenheit). There are energy saving tips on the website and to download.
There are a number of grants available to help improve the insulation to your loft and cavity wall and towards heating your home.
Loft and Cavity Wall Insulation
For grants and discounts for loft and cavity wall insulation call the East Sussex Energy Partnership on 0800 980 0901. You can also make an enquiry online at the East Sussex Energy Partnership website.
Boilers and Heating Systems
Boiler Scrappage Scheme
The Government has recently announced it's new Boiler Scrappage Scheme. A national scheme to upgrade household heating systems to cut carbon, save money on fuel bills and sustain work for the heating industry
Up to 125,000 households in England with working "G-rated" boilers can apply through the Energy Saving Trust for a voucher which will entitle them to £400 off the price of a new "A-rated" boiler or a renewable heating system like a biomass boiler or a heat pump
