Housing Strategy
The Housing Strategy 2008-13 has now been finalised.
Homelessness Strategy
The strategy profiles homelessness in Wealden and details what the Council and it's partners intend to do to tackle the issues.
Housing Planning Protocol
The following protocol has been agreed to assist in the delivery of rural affordable housing in the Wealden District. (pdf 87kb)
Private Housing Renewal and Empty Homes Strategy
The new Private Housing Renewal Strategy and Empty Homes Strategy has been approved and was implemented on 1st August 2009 to reflect changes in legislation and government priorities and to provide a comprehensive picture of private sector housing needs, issues and priorities for action over the next five years.
Older Persons Housing and Support Strategy
In partnership with East Sussex County Council, in 2008 Wealden District Council published an Older Persons Housing and Support Strategy.
Affordable Warmth Strategy (pdf 845kb)
The Affordable Warmth Strategy provides the context for Wealden's work on Home Energy Efficiency and our commitment to improving energy efficiency in the District. The strategy also included an action plan (pdf 57kb) which was subject to a full review in 2007.
Housing Needs Studies
The Housing Needs Survey was carried out during the summer of 2009 by Fordham Research.
Strategic Housing Market Assessments
In partnership with Eastbourne Borough Council we commissioned two Strategic Housing Market Assessments. One for Eastbourne and South Wealden and one covering the rest of the Wealden district. These documents are assessments of the estimated demand for market housing and the need for affordable housing within a given location.
