Postal address for new housing
How do I get a house number assigned to the new house I am building?
- Send your request in writing to the Crowborough Council offices and enclose any relevant site plans for the development
- In most cases a small development or single new property will be named or numbered into the existing street.
Do
I need to notify utility companies and other organisations about
the new house(s)?
The Council will notify organisations (ie. emergency services, utility companies, land registry, Ordnance Survey) of the new small development or single property.
How do I apply for a street name for the new development I am building?
A new street name may be required for larger developments. If a street name is required for the site, the developer will be asked for name suggestions which are forwarded to the Town/Parish Council for confirmation.
Once this phase is complete, the proposed street naming and numbering details are sent to the Royal Mail Address Management Centre for postal address allocation.
The developer and Town/Parish Council will receive written confirmation of the correct postal address for the site.
This Council will notify organisations (i.e. emergency services, utility companies, land registry, Ordnance Survey) of the new development.
It is the responsibility of the developer for the initial provision of street nameplates for the site, the Council provides a street nameplate specification. We will maintain the upkeep.
