Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

The Wealden Adopted SCI

The SCI was formally adopted at a Full Council meeting on 21st February 2007. All consultation on the Local Development Framework that takes place will now have to comply with the requirements of the SCI.

The Council has published an adoption statement (pdf) in accordance with the requirements of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004. It contains information on where the adopted SCI and the Inspector’s Report can be viewed and gives guidance for those wishing to seek judicial review.

Outcome of the Examination

The final Inspector’s Report (pdf) into the soundness of the Statement of Community Involvement was received on 29th January 2007. Subject to a small number of binding recommendations, the Inspector found the document to be sound.

A Statement of Representations (pdf) is available which provides details of the number of representations made, and summarises the key issues raised.
