Equipped Play areas, Skate Parks
The Town or Parish Councils are responsible for the equipped play areas and skate parks within the Wealden district. Here is a list of the skate parks, Play areas and Recreation areas throughout wealden.
Westham Parish Council:
Adur Park, Adur Drive, Stone cross - Two play parks, a basket ball court and an open space to play in Butchers' Field, Westham - Open space and Wildflower Meadow for people to walk in. Some of the estates have small children's play parks with play equipment, namely Cherwell Close (Stone Cross), Hamble Road (Stone Cross) and Castle Bolton (Westham)
Framfield Parish Council:
There are three recreation grounds in the Framfield Parish which all have play areas and are open all the time. These are located at:The Street, Framfield, High Street, Blackboys and Palehouse Common. All of these are behind the houses that front the roads.
East Hoathly with Halland there is a playing field with soon to have a new play area. This can be found off London Road, East Hoathly and is open all the time.
Buxted Parish Council:
Framfield Road, Buxted - Recreation area and a childrens' playground for the under 12s
Chillies Lane, High Hurstwood - Recreation area and a childrens' playground for the under 12s
Ninfield Parish Council:
There is a recreation ground in the middle of the village at the corner of Bexhill Road and Church lane. This has a cricket pitch, enough room for a football game, a fixed "sportswall" (for football and basketball). At the recreation ground there is a pavilion/changing area available for hire. There is a substantial fenced play area containing swings etc for smaller children. This is in addition to the Schools play facilities which includes a trim trail (for use of the schoolchildren).
Hooe has a recreation ground with a football pitch and fixed goalpost. This is situated on the corner of Straight Lane and Sawpits
In both cases they are available all the time for general individual recreation use, but would need to be booked for more formal/organised events or groups.
Wadhurst Parish Council:
Sparrows Recreation ground can be found at South View road, Wadhurst, TN5 6TW. At this ground childrens' play equipment, football pitches and a tarmac area for youth play are available, gates are locked at 6pm.
At Frant green on the A267 situated on the village green there is ample of grass play space and children's play equipment.

Herstmonceux Parish Council:
There is a recreation ground with a skateboard park, a children's play area, a bowling green and one tennis court. The ground is marked out for cricket. Stoolball is played there twice a week. There is access to the recreation at all times on foot and there is small car park accessed by a private road. In the village there is also a marked football pitch. There is access on foot to this area at all time and car access when there is a match.
Horam Parish Council:
Horam has a skate park on the recreation ground next to the playground, it is accesible at all times. The recreation ground has football nets and is regulary used by Broad Oak & Horam FC.
Hadlow Down Parish Council:
At the playing field there is a rope swing, basketball net with associated flat area, a mountain bike track and 1 set of goal posts.
Isfield Parish Council:
There is a recreation ground that is used by the local Football and Cricket teams. It also has a childrens play area with swings, slides and frames etc. The recreation ground also has a sports pavillion with two sets of changing rooms and showers etc.
East Dean Parish Council:
A recreation ground can be found at Gilberts drive in East Dean. This hosts the local Cricket Club who play alternate weekends and occasional evenings. Also there is a childrens' play area, tennis court and mini football nets.
Heathfield & Waldron Parish Council:
There is a Skate park at south cutting to Heathfield tunnel, Station Approach, Heathfield. Ramps, half pipe etc. can be found here.
Jubilee Park, Ghyll Road there is a wildflower meadow with native trees
Leeves Common play area, Leeves Way/Leeves Close/Newnham Way there is a fixed goalmouth and basketball wall. There is also swings and a multiplay area at this site.
Tower Recreation Ground, this site has 2 football pitches with a changing pavilion; a childrens' play area with multiplay units, swings, slides etc.
Sheepsetting Lane play area, Sheepsetting Lane has a football pitch and a petanque rink.
Cross-In-Hand at Hardy Roberts Playing Fields, A267 has a rugby pitch and training area, tennis courts, an outdoor bowling green and a childrens' play area with a multiplay area and swings
Broad Oak adjacent to Broad Oak Village Hall, A265 you can find a childrens' play area with a climbing frame, swings etc
At Cade Street Memorial Ground, rear of Half Moon public house there is a childrens' play area with climbing wall and multiplay unit with swings etc
At Punnetts Town Recreation Ground, B2096 there is childrens play area with a multiplay unit, swings etc and a football pitch
At Waldron Recreation Ground adjacent to the Lucas Memorial Hall there is a childrens play area with multiplay units, swings, roundabouts etc, cricket pitch, rugby pitches with a pavilion.
All of the above public recreational facilities in the Heathfield and Waldron area are available at all times. However, formal pitches are used by Clubs and may not available for informal play. Tennis Courts and bowling green are operated by Clubs and are available for use by members only.
Forest Row Parish Council:
A concrete skate ramp is situated on Forester's Green, Hartfield Road this is always open. The recreation ground is at the top of Chapel Lane this has a pavilion, where many sports clubs meet. The childrens' playground is situated at Rush Green, Hartfield Road.
Uckfield Parish Council: (pdf 35kb)
There are 9 play areas and 6 recreation areas around Uckfield.
