Wealden District Council is continually working towards improving and maintaining the accessibility and usability of our website. We have recently redesigned our website, with the aim to make it more accessible and user-friendly.
This page explains the accessibility features we have introduced to our site.
The 'accessibility bar' at the top of every page provides a number of features to help improve the accessibility of our website.
Change the Colour Contrast.....
People with cognitive or sight problems may find certain colour combinations inaccessible. To overcome this issue, we have provided four colour contrast options:
- The default colour combination: black text on a light green background. This colour combination matches the colours of the Wealden logo and our corporate branding.
- Black text on a yellow background
- Yellow text on a black background
- Black text on a cream background
To apply the colour change, you just need to click the appropriate colour contrast button in the accessibility bar, or click one of the links below:

Other Features
The accessibility bar also includes a link to a page providing details about Browsealoud and how to download it, a 'skip navigation' button, a link to the site map and a 'translate this page' button. The site search and A to Z of Council Services are also located at the top of each page.
