Market Towns Regeneration

Streets Ahead

Britain's high streets are going through a radical period of change, driven largely by the impact of a combination of internet, mobile, edge of town, out of town and supermarket shopping.

Towns and villages need support to ensure that their high streets can successfully evolve, thrive and continue in the future to be valued as centres of the community.  Wealden District Council set up Streets Ahead which provided support to Wealden's high streets from 2013-2015. The full report can be found here

Best Dressed Christmas Shop Window Competition

Market Town Partnerships and what they do

Market Town Partnerships can play a key role in the regeneration of their towns and are made up of people from the public, private and voluntary sector.  In Wealden the towns of Hailsham, Heathfield and Pevensey have all set up Town Partnerships or Community Action Groups.
