Wealden businesses compete in Sussex Food and Drink Awards

A number of exciting local food businesses are competing in the 2019 Sussex Food and Drink Awards.

Among the finalists are Five Ashes cheese producer Alsop & Walker, who are entered in the Sussex Food Producer of the Year category, Crowborough-based gin produce Tom Cat Gin who are finalist in the Sussex Drink Producer of the Year and the Perry Hill Farm Shop who are finalists in the Sussex Food Shop of the Year.

Other Wealden finalists are the Forest Row Village Market who feature in the Farmers’ Market of the Year category, while there are two finalists in the Sussex Eating Experience category: The Rathfinney Tasting Room and Wingrove House- both are in Alfriston.

The public are invited to take part in the online vote by going to www.sussexfoodawards.biz. The closing date for voting is 17 January, 2019. Last year’s awards attracted a record 15,000 votes.

A record 15,000 votes were received in the Sussex Food and Drink Awards last year. 

Entries remain open until 17 January 2019 for Young Sussex Farmer of the Year category, as well as Sussex Newcomer of the Year, and Sussex Young Chef of the Year. 

All ten categories will be invited to attend the award ceremony on 15 May 2019 at the Amex Stadium in Brighton, where the winners will be revealed.
