Strategy and Plan

The Safer Wealden Partnership along with all other crime reduction partnerships across the country, is now required to produce three year community safety plans.

The priorities agreed within the plan are reached in two ways. Firstly the crime figures for the area are examined closely so an accurate picture is created of what is going on. Secondly the views of local residents are collected through a variety of methods. These two sources of intelligence are then combined to inform the priorities that the Partnership will take forward as its targets and objectives.

For future years we are working to improve the way in which we gather information from Wealden's residents. We have held a number of 'Face the People' sessions; the Police are organising panels of residents in every ward of the District to discuss the issues that are important to those communities and the Safer Wealden Partnership has developed a questionnaire which is used for any individual to tell us what they think is important in their area, how we decided on our priorities and what those priorities are. The plan is designed to be flexible because priorities can change as circumstances change, therefore the plan will be refreshed annually.
