Wealden and Eastbourne Lifeline (WEL) is a not for profit organisation established by Wealden District Council and Eastbourne Borough Council.
WEL is dedicated to ensuring safety, security and independence for our customers through our locally based 24 hour telephone response service, bringing extra reassurance and peace of mind to you and your family.
WEL operates the only 24 hour telecare response centre based in East Sussex.
Their friendly and helpful staff will help you to choose the service package that best meets your individual requirements whether your priority is:
- Support and reassurance to enable you to enjoy living independently
- Peace of mind and security
- Providing safety and reassurance for your family;
- Fear of crime, or
- Additional protection for your property
WEL can provide:
- Panic Buttons
- Smoke Alarms
- Intruder Alarms
- Fall Detectors
- Movement sensors
- Flood Detectors
- Door entry Systems
Key Safes - fitted to the outside of the property, would ensure that should the need arise the emergency services would be able to gain access to the property quickly.
If any of the telecare sensors detect a problem an alarm will be raised at our Telecare response centre where staff will ensure that immediate action is taken to ensure you get the help you need. By contacting:

- Your doctor
- Ambulance
- Police
Even if you are unable to speak WEL will have the details you have supplied, on their computer screens so that they can summon the most appropriate assistance.
WEL serve more than 10,000 people in East Sussex including people who need support because they are:
- Elderly
- Disabled
- Unwell Victims of crime (including domestic violence)
- Worried about crime
