Transfer Incentive Scheme Review and Survey 2013

Results of Recent Consultations

During the summer of 2012 we consulted on the following:

Succession Policy  

The Localism Act 2011 made changes to the Housing Act 1985 section 87 on the succession rights of secure tenants. As a result we produced a draft policy setting out the rights of different secure tenants dependant upon whether their tenancy was granted before or after 1st April 2012.

Tenancy Strategy

The Localism Act 2011 requires Local Authorities to produce and publish a tenancy strategy by January 2013. The Strategy must set out the matters to which the registered providers of social housing operating in the district are to have regard to in formulating policies.

Tenancy Policy

The Localism Act 2011 places a new obligation on Registered Providers of housing to develop a Tenancy Policy setting out the types of tenancies they will grant.
