"We owe a tremendous debt to those men and women of our Armed Forces who have given their lives fighting in far away places, and the families and friends they leave behind," said Councillor Sylvia Martin, Chairman of Wealden District Council. "On Remembrance Sunday, 14 November, we will be taking the opportunity to remember and honour them at ceremonies throughout the District."
On Sunday 14 November, the Chairman of Wealden District Council will be attending Remembrance Services at All Saints Church, Danehill, in the morning and All Saints Church, Crowborough in the afternoon. She will also be laying wreaths on behalf of the Council at the war memorials.
Councillor Jonica Fox, the vice chairman of Wealden District Council, will be attending the Remembrance Sunday wreath laying ceremony at Hailsham War Memorial. Other District Councillors will be marking the occasion at Services of Remembrance throughout the District.
On Thursday 11 November, Armistice Day, the Union Flag will be flown at Wealden District Council's offices in Hailsham and Crowborough.
