The Hailsham Skate Park project is in memory of Tony Tack, long standing chair of the Town Farm Residents Association, who had campaigned for a skate park in Hailsham. He sadly died just before this project received the go-ahead.

The  project has been brought about through successful partnership working between Town Farm Residents Association, Hailsham Town Council, Wealden District Council and East Sussex County Council.

It is the result of a two year  planning, consultation, tender and development process, facilitated by Wealden's tenant involvement team and project managed by Hamson Partnership, Haywards Heath.

The  work will be carried out by Wheelscape (external link) who specialise in building bespoke freeform skate parks. Local young poeple have been involved throughout the process.   The skate park has secured funding from: Big Lottery Fund - Changing Spaces Programme (£50,000) Veolia Environmental Trust - (£39,000) Wealden District Council - Community and Environmental Budget (£30,000) Hailsham Town Council (£10,000) and East Sussex County Council   (£5,000) .
