The Council's local land charges section is based at the Crowborough office and is responsible for the maintenance of the Land Charges Register together with processing local authority searches of the Register.

Wealden Team Wins Again!
For the second successive year, Wealden's Land Charges service has won a national award for excellence at the Local Data Local Land Charges Industry Awards. They were awarded the Electronic Services Delivery Champion Award for 2012 because of the Council's committed support for electronic service delivery.
In 2011, Land Data named Wealden District Council the Best Local Land Charges Department of the Year at the 2011 Land Data Local Land Charges Industry Awards. The Land Data awards celebrate the work and achievements of local land charges teams around the country and give recognition to those local authorities who are playing a key role in modernising and shaping the future of the industry.

A Land Charges search is made up of various parts. Searches can be submitted via 3 methods, or can take the form of a personal search.
