Wealden District Council and the South Downs National Park Authority submitted, on the 5th August 2011, its Core Strategy to the Secretary of State for independent examination.
Inspector Michael Moore BA(Hons) MRTPI CMILT MCIHT has been appointed to carry out the examination.
We have now received the Inspectors interim findings by way of a letter dated the 5th March 2012 and schedule of recommended main modifications. It is now a requirement that the Council and National Park consult on all proposed modifications to the Core Strategy. It has come to the Council's attention that a number of consultees registered on our database were mistakenly omitted from the mail out of our original notification letter regarding this consultation. As such, the consultation period will be extended to allow all who wish to make a representation reasonable time to do so. The consultation, which began on Wednesday 11th April 2012, will now run until 5pm on Wednesday 13th June 2012. Representations should be made on the prescribed representation form by no later than 5pm on Wednesday 13th June 2012. The documents and further details of the consultation are available on the Modifications to the Submission Core Strategy DPD section of our website. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Due to the publication of the National Planning Policy Framework (pdf) (the Framework) and the Planning Policy for Traveller Sites (pdf) the views of respondents are being sought on whether there are any implications for the Core Strategy. Copies of the letters can be found on the Examination of the Core Strategy page of the website. Any representations should be sent to Lynette Benton, Programme Officer, Wealden District Council, Pine Grove, Crowborough, East Sussex, TN6 1DH by Friday 18th May at 5.00 pm. This consultation is running in parallel with the consultation on modifications to the Core Strategy.
All correspondence and documents since Submission of the Core Strategy are available to view on the Examination of the Core Strategy page.
