Wealden Dementia Action Alliance Meeting
The next Dementia Action Alliance meeting will be on Thursday 21st March, 10am till 12noon at Mayfield Fire Station. Please contact the Community and Regeneration Team on 01323 443266 for more information or if you would like to be involved.
Forums
Our vision from the start was to set up local forums as Wealden is identified as a large and rural area. So far we have helped to create the Uckfield Forum, Polegate Forum, Crowborough Forum and Hailsham Forum. Ninfield also have a social forum for local residents to take part in. These forums work alongside their local community to become a dementia friendly community.
Hailsham Dementia Forum
The next Hailsham dementia forum (JPEG) will take place on Friday 15th March at Hailsham Citizens Advice Bureau in Hailsham. The forum will work towards a dementia friendly town for Hailsham. Movies Make Memories

The screenings will be held at the Hailsham Pavilion Theatre on George Street, BN27 1AE, starting at 2pm, with doors opening at 1:30pm. Tickets cost £3 and carers can enter free of charge.

Polegate Dementia Forum

Crowborough Dementia Forum
The next Crowborough Dementia Forum meeting will be on Friday 22 March 2019 from 10am until 12noon at Woodlands Care Home, TN6 1UD. Please contact the Community and Regeneration Team on 01323 443266 for more information if you would like to be involved.
Crowborough Community Café
The Café will be every last Thursday of the month and will alternate between Woodlands and Heather View, Beacon Road in Crowborough. 2pm till 4pm.

The screenings will be held at Ninfield Memorial Hall, Ninfield, TN33 9EE.
Doors open at 1.30pm, film to start at 2pm.
The screening is FREE but please book a seat. There will be a raffle and refreshments available.

Side By Side
Side By Side is a service provided by the Alzheimer's society that helps people get out and about with the support of a volunteer. There are several people with dementia in the Wealden area waiting for a volunteer to meet with them once a week or fortnight so they can go out and enjoy themselves. You could take them out for a coffee or a walk, or got to the pub to play darts, or help someone play guitar. Accessible Swim Sessions
Freedom Leisure has organised accessible swim sessions in Crowborough, suitable for people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and people living with dementia.

Uckfield Saturday Socials
Saturday social is a supportive, safe and caring gathering for people living with dementia and other care needs, to come with their carers and family members, and socialise with others in a similar situation.
Join in the fun at Victoria Pavilion, Victoria Pleasure Ground, Uckfield, TN22 5DJ between 2pm - 4pm.

Polegate Memory Café

Know Dementia - Memory Moments Café
Every Monday at Uckfield Civic Centre from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Informal café including tea, coffee, cake and a little laughter. £1 per person, no booking necessary.
Time For Dementia
Time for Dementia is a programme working with medical students and other health professionals. The students have the opportunity to get to know a person with dementia and their family carer outside the clinical setting.
