Digital Skills - GO ON Wealden campaign

Go On Wealden logo

Having access to the internet and being able to use a computer are becoming essential for everyday life. There are so many benefits of being able to use computers and the internet such as communicating with friends for free, shopping online, researching your favourite hobby or finding the cheapest deals - did you know the average household can save nearly £600 a year by being online?

The Council is concerned that not everyone in Wealden is able to get online. They may lack skills, confidence, knowledge, can't afford the cost of computers or training or don’t see the benefit. Wealden, like other authorities is doing all that we can with others to tackle these issues.

Wi-Fi access, Training and IT Support

There are lots of places across Wealden and nearby that provide free internet access. Lots of pubs, cafes and supermarkets have wifi access, although some will ask you to pay for a beverage. Just check the terms and conditions before you connect.  To locate your nearest venue download or view a copy of the Digital Skills booklet (pdf)

For further information email digitalskills@wealden.gov.uk

We also regularly run IT courses to help people get online and/or improve their computer skills. These courses are run at various locations in Wealden and Eastbourne and are free to all Wealden and Eastbourne residents aged 19 or over. Find out about our Street Learning programme.
