Brexit Preparations

Preparations for the United Kingdom leaving the European Union

Significant preparations are underway for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union. Details of the advice and guidance produced by Central Government can be found at the following sites:-

Businesses

Find out what your business or organisation may need to do to prepare for Brexit. The site also provides information on specific rules and regulations and how they will change when the UK leaves the EU.

Prepare for Brexit if you live in the UK

Guidance from the government on visiting and making purchases from countries within the European Union, including hotel accommodation. Information is also available on studying in the European union if you are a UK national.

European Union nationals

The UK government has reached an agreement with the EU that will protect the rights of EU citizens and their family members living in the UK. It has also reached an agreement with Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, and a separate agreement with Switzerland.

These agreements mean that most citizens from the EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland will need to apply to stay in the UK. They can then continue living their lives here as they do now.

Wealden District Council produced a report for our Audit and Finance Committee, highlighting the work we are doing to prepare for the country to leave the European Union.
