Ways To Pay My Council Rent & Service Charge

Paying my council rent

Your rent is due every Monday and can be paid using the following methods. You will need your housing rents reference number when making payments.

  • By Direct Debit

Download the direct debit form (pdf) if you haven't already set up a Direct Debit for your rent. You can currently pay by Direct Debit on 5th or 20th of each month. 

  • Using my rent payment card at a post office

For a new rent payment card email or telephone us using the contact information at the bottom of this page giving us your name and address.

  • Over the telephone by debit card

by debit card (Maestro and Visa Debit) where no charge will apply and credit card (Mastercard and Visa) where a 2% transaction charge will apply. American Express, Diners Club and Electron cards cannot be accepted. Call us using the contact information at the bottom of this page to make a payment. 

  • By Standing Order

Please contact your bank for details on how to set up a standing order. You will need the Council's bank account details which are detailed below. Standing Order forms are available from by calling us using the contact information at the bottom of this page.

  • Your Bank's Internet Banking service

    You can pay using your bank's internet banking service.  Your bank will give you details of how to set this up.

    Once you have done so, you can make a payment simply by logging on and instructing the bank to do so. The first time you will need to provide the council's bank details and your account reference number.

    The Council's bank details are:

    Lloyds Bank PLC 

    Sort code 30-80-12, Account number 10341360.

    After that you only need to tell the bank the amount to pay the Council.  You can also use this method to pay gas, electricity and phone bills as well.

  • Your Bank's Telephone Banking Service

    You can telephone your bank with payment details.  Your bank will give you details of how to do this.  You can also pay gas and electricity bills like this.

  • The Council's Internet Payment system

    Make a Payment Using Our Online Payments System can be made by debit card (Maestro and Visa Debit) where no charge will apply and credit card (Mastercard and Visa) where a 2% transaction charge will apply. American Express, Diners Club and Electron cards cannot be accepted.

  • The Council's 24 Hour Telephone Payment system
