Renewable Energy

Before considering renewable energy, your home should be as energy efficient as possible. This is a requirement for most of the renewable energy grants.

Renewable energy technology supplies renewable or low carbon heat and electricity to your home these systems are particularly good for homes where mains gas is not available they can replace more expensive forms of energy such as LGP, oil, solid fuel or electricity. Not only will they save on your fuel bill they may generate an income and reduce the carbon monoxide to the environment.

A range of devices can allow people to make their own electricity/heat from the wind, sun or even the ground or water from a stream or river.

Technologies can include

  1. Air Source Heat Pump
  2. Solar hot water
  3. Biomass boilers
  4. Solar PV
  5. Micro CHP
  6. Wind turbine
  7. Hydro power
  8. anaerobic digestion
