Herstmonceux Neighbourhood Plan

Wealden District Council is supporting Herstmonceux Parish Council in the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan for the designated parish area. Further details relating to the development of the plan can be found below and also on the Herstmonceux Parish Council's website (external link).

The referendum for the Herstmonceux Neighbourhood Plan took place on 3 May 2018. Below are the documents relating to the referendum;

Following the receipt of the examiner's report on 6 February 2018 the modifications to the Herstmonceux Parish Council Neighbourhood Plan were approved by the Portfolio Holder for Planning and Development on 21 February 2018 as a Portfolio Holder Decision, which was effective from 1 March 2018. The decision statement and schedule of modifications can be found below:

The decision statement, schedule of modifications and examiner's report were available for viewing at the following locations;

  • Wealden District Council, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham BN27 2AX (during office hours)
  • Herstmonceux Parish Council Office, 4 The Old Forge, Gardner Street, Herstmonceux BN27 4LG (by arrangement)
  • Herstmonceux Village Information Centre 2/3 The Old Forge, Gardner Street, Herstmonceux BN27 4LG (Monday - Friday 10am to 12:30pm, Sat 10am to 12 midday)
  • Herstmonceux Village Hall, Hailsham Road, Herstmonceux BN27 4JX (available in the foyer during open sessions)

Consultation on the Pre Submission Herstmonceux Neighbourhood Plan closed on 6th November 2017. Below are the responses received together with the documents which formed the subject of the consultation.

All comments submitted during the consultation period will be passed onto an appointed independent examiner along with a copy of the Neighbourhood Plan and the supporting documents. The role of an independent examiner is to consider whether the submitted plan meets the statutory requirements set out in the legislation and consider the area the referendum should apply to.
