Legislation Affecting Car Parks in Wealden
The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Wealden District Council Off Street Parking Order 1990 (pdf) contain regulations designed to ensure the car parks are managed in the most effective manner to protect the needs of both shoppers, (short term parking close to the shops) and workers (longer term parking).
These include strict adherence to the short stay time limits, preventing abuse of bays provided for Blue Badge disabled drivers, and prohibition of heavy good vehicles.
