Tourism rewarded in Wealden

Wealden, recently judged by a MORI survey as the best place to live in the South, is also a great place to visit. Three of its leading attractions have just scooped a number of accolades at Tourism South East’s Tourist ExSEllence Awards.

“Considering the Tourism South East Awards cover eight counties and the Isle of Wight, I think Wealden district is punching well above its own weight when it comes to visitor attractions,” said Councillor Keith Whitehead, Cabinet member for Sustainable Development and Regeneration.

“I would like to congratulate those three tourism businesses for such a wonderful showing in this year’s awards. With a combination of imagination and detailed customer attention, tourism continues to play an important part in the economy of a district which offers outstanding locations in terms of landscape and countryside.”

Groombridge Place Gardens and Enchanted Forest, on the northern border of Wealden, was used as a location for the filming of Pride and Prejudice.
