Car parking fines, charges & enforcement
We monitor the car parks in accordance with the Off Street Parking Places Order 1990 & issue excess charge notices (fixed penalties). We need not cover On Street Parking.
When Will an Excess Charge Notice Be Issued ?
If a vehicle is ...
- Not parked wholly within a parking bay
- Not of the permitted class
- Left longer than the permitted maximum time
- The vehicle returns to the same car park within 3 hours
Or in car parks where charging applies...
- No parking ticket is displayed
- The parking ticket is not valid
Penalties / fines
When issued with an excess charge notice the penalties are ...
- £30 if payment is received within 14 days
- £60 if payment is received after 14 days
What Happens if a Ticket Remains Unpaid?
If payment is not received within 14 days we ...
- Obtain the registered keeper details from DVLA
- Invoice the registered keeper to the value of £60
- Reminders are sent out if necessary
If payment is still not received ...
- All the details are then passed on to a debt recovery agency ;
Appeals Procedure
- All appeals must be in writing and received within 14 days.
- Payment is held at the lower fee of £30 whilst the notice is in dispute
- Your appeal will be given careful consideration and you will be notified accordingly of the outcome

If your appeal is unsuccessful you will have 14 days from the date of the letter to pay the notice at the fee of £30, after this date the fee will increase to £60.
