CROWN Caddy Recycling Scheme - Rural Trial
The new recycling service in Forest Row, Danehill and Chelwood Gate has been in operation since the middle of May 2007. The scheme is similar to the existing CROWN service in terms of the collection frequency and the materials collected but differs in its use of vehicles and containers. Wealden is replacing its fleet of collection vehicles with specially designed "twin pack" vehicles, which means two materials can be collected from each household each week and be stored separately within the same vehicle. This has significant advantages in terms of both the environmental and financial costs of transport.
