Domestic Landfill Waste and Recycling Collections
There are two basic types of collection service and one trial collection service that currently operate in the District for domestic properties:
- CROWN (Composting and Recycling Our Waste Now)
Two thirds of the District are currently provided with a segregated waste collection service. The Pattern of collections is carried out on an alternate weekly basis, with a bin for green waste and a blue kerbside box for paper, cans and foil emptied one week and the landfill (refuse) bin the next. Since the scheme started we have started to expand the materials we collect. Certain areas have now been issued with a white bag for plastic bottles, cans and foil, leaving the blue box for paper.

- CROWN Caddy Recycling Scheme - Rural Trial
3,000 properties in the Forest Row, Danehill and Chelwood Gate area have been added on to a trial recycling scheme similar to the existing CROWN scheme but it only requires one split compartment lorry collecting from a round each week.

- Weekly Landfill (refuse) Collection Service
This service is provided for the remainder of the District who currently do not receive a kerbside recycling collection through one of the CROWN schemes. Residents are provided with one wheelie bin for the collection of domestic landfill waste.
