Recycling Information

Wealden District Council started a program of recycling in 1980 with the introduction of glass bottle banks and has been working to increase recycling ever since. The district currently recycles and composts 30.3% (2006/07) of the collected household waste. This amounts to over 19,000 tonnes of materials being diverted from local sites to either being recycled to make new products or to produce soil conditioner.
