Renting from a Private Landlord
We have established a number of initiatives to provide more choice for people looking to rent and to encourage more owners in the District to let their properties.
If you are interested in renting, Wealden Letstart offers privately rented accomodation for
people threatened with homelessness. We also have compiled a list of letting agents who may be able to help you and can provide some general advice about tenancy agreements and the obligations of landlords and tenants. The Department for communities and local government website (DCLG) also provides information on private renting.
Wealden Letstart Guarantee Scheme
The Letstart Guarantee Scheme is funded by the Council to assist people who are in housing need, but are unable to afford a deposit for a privately rented property.
