Housing Options, Advice & Homelessness
This team provides housing advice and assistance and works to prevent homelessness in the District. It also deals with maintaining a housing register and manages choice based lettings on behalf of the Council.
Affordable Home Ownership
The Council works with Housing Associations to help provide access to home ownership for those that do not have the finances to purchase a home of their own outright.
Applying for Social Housing
New and vacant Council and Housing Association homes are now advertised to enable those in housing need to have a greater control over where they live.
Housing Advice and Assistance
The Housing Options Team is able to provide advice and assistance to those that require help in accessing suitable accommodation.
Homelessness
If you are homeless or about to become homeless you can contact us for advice and assistance. Where homelessness can not be avoided we will provide help in finding a home.
Mortgage Arrears Advice and Repossessions
If your mortgage is becoming unmanageable, you should act quickly to contact your lender, seek debt advice and also contact the Housing Options Team at Wealden District Council. This page also gives news and advice about how the governments is helping to tackle repossessions.

Housing Support
The Home Works service operates across all of East Sussex and is focussed on floating support for those experiencing housing difficulties. It provides short term support with housing for long term independence, and is available to anyone aged 16 – 64 living in East Sussex.
