Insulation grants for home owners or private rented tenants

Free schemes

For people in receipt of certain benefits or over 70 we can refer to the East Sussex Energy Partnership for free insulation (subject to size of the property):

There is limited funding for people aged 60 to 70 but this may not always be available depending on demand.

Please note there may be additional charges on these schemes depending on the size of the property and additional work such as scaffolding.

Discount schemes

If you do not meet the eligibility criteria for the free schemes there are discounted schemes available through the East Sussex Energy Partnership.

Insulation for Council Tenants

In 2009 we have been running a pilot programme to improve the insulation in a small number of council properties. There will be a second phase this year for properties targeted to meet the decent homes standard.

Boilers and heating system assistance for home owners or private rented tenants

For over 60s there is a £300 rebate towards energy efficient heating systems repair or replacement through Warm Front

Grants available for boiler repairs or replacement through Warm Front for those in receipt of qualifying benefits

Wealden provides assistance for people on qualifying benefits; the scheme includes heating. This grant is repayable on the sale of a property. There are also top-ups for where Warm Front work exceeds the grant amount, please call for details.

Renewables - make your own heat and electricity

Grants open to all home owners to contribute towards the cost of renewables through the Low Carbon Building Program. For further advice call the East Sussex Energy Parntership on 0800 980 0901.
