What Difference Does it Make?
Targets, Results and Customer Service
Targets
- The Home Energy Conservation Act (HECA) 1995 requires a 30% improvement in energy efficiency from 1995 to 2010. We are also required to provide information on fuel poverty for National Indicator (NI 187) under Comprehensive Area Assessment. The survey is currently underway and the results will be added to this page.
- Our target for 2008/9 is a 11,000 tonne carbon dioxide reduction in domestic emissions. In light of the high demand for insulation and interest in saving energy, we expect to exceed this through working with a range of partners.
Results

- The above graph shows the annual domestic energy efficiency improvements for the district. This work means that more people are living in warmer, more energy efficiency homes, saving money and reducing their impact on climate change.
- In 2008 we aimed for a 11,000 tonne carbon dioxide reduction in domestic emissions, with our partners we achieved close to this target with a 10,300 tonne reduction.
