Housing Summit 2009
The annual Housing Summit took place on 16th September 2009 at the Uckfield Civic Centre. The event as in previous years was sponsored in partnership with our four Registered Social Landlord partners: Town & Country Housing Group, Home Group, Raglan Housing Association and Downland Housing Association.
The day focused the economic downturn, its effect on Wealden and Wealden's response to it.
The morning session evolved around a corporate update, an update on the Housing Strategy, Local Development Framework and Wealden's and the Citizens Advice Bureaux's work in response to the economic downturn.
The afternoon breakout sessions focused on:
- The impact on housing delivery
- Employment in the current climate
- Addressing financial inclusion
- Impact on housing benefit and homelessness.
The event was attended by over 90 stakeholders, including District, Town and Parish Councillors, private developers / house builders, registered social landlords, consultants and architects and statutory agencies.
