The 2006 award recognised the high level of commitment and involvement by Wealden managers in motivating, informing, training and developing staff. It also reflects the work of the Human Resources department in the development of effective policies, procedures and Learning & Development strategies.

The benefits to the Council focus on the ongoing strategy of investing in the development of employees, thereby enabling the Council to achieve its corporate objectives. The award also contributes to the Council’s efforts to recruit and retain high calibre staff and provide a quality service to the community.
