Community Sports and Leisure Network

The Wealden Community Sports and Leisure Network (CSN) was set up in spring 2007 as a sub group of the Wealden Local Strategic Partnership. It links to the ‘Cultural Activities and Leisure’ theme of the Wealden Community Strategy published in 2002 and updated in February 2007.

The Wealden CSN brings together a range of relevant local organisations, agencies, schools and sports club alliances within the district. It is part of a national structure of local Community Sports Networks that feed into regional County Sports Partnerships. This system is promoted by Sport England, the Government agency responsible for advising, investing in and promoting community sport.

The main aim is to increase the number of local people taking part and volunteering in physical activity, sport and leisure activities.

The Wealden CSN is developing a progamme of targeted exercise activities called 'On the Move', with funding secured from Sport England.
